In an increasingly complex world, we face an array of global challenges. Armed conflicts, rising national debt, changing climate conditions and major demographic shifts – our world seems to be coming apart at the seams. But is it really?
Can we structure the dynamic challenges with Art, AI and Imagination?
The global self-organisation of humanity reveals a multitude of conflicting perspectives. Issues such as climate change or the fight against pandemics highlight the challenges to our cognitive abilities. The concept of 4E cognition may explain why it is so difficult to integrate different perspectives.
Artificial superintelligence: a solution or a new challenge?
Many hope that an artificial superintelligence could improve global self-organisation. However, experts such as Geoffrey Hinton and Nick Bostrom warn of potential risks. The phenomenon of emergence plays a decisive role in the development of an artificial superintelligence.
Not only. Many other phenomena are important. In this project, we are focusing on the relationship between the phenomena of emergence, entropy and synchronisation.
Is this a new model?
Our model investigates how the interaction of entropy, synchronisation and emergence can promote new levels of development between humans and machines. We consider these phenomena based on the emergence of inner and collective images as well as comparable developments in AI research.
Is imagination the key to change?
As Cornelius Castoriadis said: ‘The imaginary enables us to create a world for ourselves, to found societies and to change them.’ Art, AI and imagination can be a key to structuring global perspectives clearly and shaping a better future.
